Chuckleberry Family Blog

The Chuckleberry Family is not your average family. Yes, we put our pants on one leg at a time (especially Aunt Ethel Chuckleberry, she only has one leg), we dream, we love, we fight, we watch American Idol. We're not that much different than you. Except for maybe cousins Max Jr and Max III, twins joined at the knee (Right knee for Jr, left knee for III).

Chuck Trouble

As if I didn’t have enough trouble with family that drives me crazy, my dog has been in the local news lately. We live in a small town, so any news is big news and if it involves kids, drunks or dogs, even better. Cousin Jake got wind of the little trouble I was having and organized a little protest. Honestly, I don’t think pickets were necessary, but the local VFW group didn’t have much to do and was ripe and ready for a good cause. The Weight Watchers ladies got involved as well, I guess they’re always looking for a way to throw their weight around (pardon the pun, I couldn’t help it)

Several dozen protesters have been picketing Dr. Ahole's Specialty Veterinarian Clinic for three days. They are demanding the release of Chuck Chuckleberry, valued member of the Chuckleberry Family. Chuck, a stunning Standard Poodle, is being held against his will and the wishes of his family by Dr. Ahole and his staff.

With no end in site to this hostage situation, family and friends are picketing to inform the public of this injustice and to free the family poodle.

Last Friday Chuck was experiencing some dizziness and loss of equilibrium, which was thought to be caused by a mild stroke or possible poisoning. He was rushed to the local emergency veterinary hospital where doctors were unable to determine the cause for the sudden change in Chuck’s behavior and ability to walk a straight line. Chuck was then admitted to Dr. Ahole’s Clinic (a specialist of highest regard) on Saturday. As of Wednesday, no medical attention or treatment has been given to the valued family poodle.

It is rumored that Dr Ahole hadn’t even seen Chuck since arriving on Saturday and had been absent from duties at the clinic, vacationing with his Pomeranian, but would not allow Chuck to be released to or visited by his family. When the doctor was finally reached by phone Rose was told to, “be patient”, “stop bugging us” and “don’t get your knickers in a knot”. Rose was not amused.

According to picket organizer “Jake” (this reporter could not get any additional information from this passionate picketer), the protest will continue until Chuck is released and retributions are made. If Dr. Ahole does not release Chuck by Friday, “Jake” will “release a double dose of whoop-ass” upon the clinic. The assembled crowd is anxiously awaiting Chuck’s release or Jake’s fury, whichever comes first.
Free Chuck Chuckleberry! Is the cry we are hearing here today.

Rose here again. You’ll be happy to know that Dr. Ahole did release Chuck to my care (we’re all a little afraid of Jake) and he’s home again sleeping in his own bed. Okay, it’s really my bed, but who am I to argue. Thanks for your support and concern.
